After becoming enchanted by the majestic redwood forests, Hill joined a protest in order to protect a, 180 foot tall -1500 year old, California Redwood tree from loggers. To ensure the tree's safety, Hill lived in the tree (that was named Luna) for 738 days!!!
Due to the negative media exposure, the logging company agreed to save the tree, as well as a buffer around it. She still continues her activism through several groups, as well as through her writings - The Legacy of Luna and One Makes the Difference.
